Plimmerton Retaining Works
Replacement of an old failing crib wall surrounding a property in Plimmerton and adjacent to a public walkway. The walkway had been previously closed as the crib was leaning sufficiently to cause a safety hazard.
The work comprised progressive sawcut and removal of the crib sections followed by installation of a large timber pole retaining wall and anchored shotcrete section.
The project was made difficult due to the requirement to protect the existing residential dwelling, fences and pool immediately above the wall from damage. This negated the traditinoal excavation of a temporary batter slope.
